Slackline Instructor C with certificate

A course for teachers, camp leaders, instructors, leisure-time educators, and the general public.
You will learn how to safely set up a slackline and explore many ways to use it for different age and skill groups. The course concludes with a certificate that meets the requirements of the International Slackline Association and the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) for further education of pedagogical staff (DVPP).

You do not need to know how to walk on a slackline to sign up. Both experienced slackliners and complete beginners are welcome. During the course, we will focus on how to best use the benefits of slacklining in teaching and in creating leisure programs. Of course, you will also personally improve your slackline skills.

There are no limits when it comes to age or fitness. Slacklining can be done at many different levels—just like riding a bike. Just keep in mind that we will be jumping down from the slackline into grass from a height of 30–40 cm.

The course includes:

  • 4 safe methods for setting up a basic slackline kit, each designed to develop different skills

  • 3 completely different techniques for teaching how to walk on a slackline

  • Games and tricks to improve coordination, strengthen core muscles, and activate the soles of the feet

  • Games to develop communication, cooperation, and empathy

  • Creating a suitable environment and program for various age and ability groups

  • Ways to use slacklining for calming the mind, gentle focus, and mindfulness (awareness, moving meditation)

What you’ll take away from the course:

  • A certificate of course completion and successful passing of the final practical exam.
There’s no need to worry about the exam—it focuses on the most important aspects: safe slackline setup and proper posture. You’ll learn how to identify potential hazards, whether it’s a damaged line or poor posture that could lead to back pain. You’ll practice all the required skills multiple times during the course, so by the end, you’ll be able to perform them with confidence.

  • Instructor Level C Certificate from the International Slackline Association.
The course for educators includes everything required for Level C instructors—and even more. To earn the certificate, you’ll need to demonstrate independent slackline setup using both a ratchet and the carabiner-based method known as the Ellington.

  • Slackline Safety Checklist
A helpful checklist of what to check before setting up, what to pay attention to during setup, and what to watch out for during slacklining. We’ll go over this repeatedly during the course, and it will be a great tool to help you stay safe—both during the final exam and in your future practice.

  • Proper Posture Checklist
Slacklining is a fantastic tool for developing coordination and strengthening core muscles. Most people naturally engage their bodies in a healthy way while slacklining. However, incorrect posture can deepen imbalances and strain already overworked areas. This checklist will help you remember the key elements of healthy posture on the slackline.

The course will be led by Ing. arch. Anna Hanuš Kuchařová, who has been professionally teaching slacklining for 10 years. She initiated and co-created the Czech Slackline Instructor Level B course, which was developed in collaboration with the Czech Slackline Association and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University. She collaborate with the International Slackline Association as senior instructor C and highline rigger.

The course meets all the requirements set by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) for further professional education (DVPP) and is part of continuous education programs (study for the deepening of professional qualifications according to § 10 of Decree No. 317/2005 Coll.).

The certificate is valid for 5 years.
After that, you don’t need to retake the entire course—just a two-hour renewal course, which I will also offer online. Slackline is a young sport that evolves very quickly, both in terms of performance and technique. Over the 15 years I’ve been involved in slacklining, the methods of setup and usage of lines have changed several times, based on new findings and unfortunately, incidents as well. For this reason, all slackline educational certificates issued in the Czech Republic and abroad have a limited validity. The renewal course is designed to introduce you to new techniques, research, and potential dangers that need to be prevented. Thank you for your understanding.
